Defining optimal technological-thermical parameters of the manufacturing process of bricks in tunnel kilns

An optimization of the energy consumption by mathematical model is a result of the needs for production of quality brick products and decreased energy consumption. Current level of brick production requires getting the ecological and attractive product and, at the same time, the energy consumption should be minimal. This disertation represents pionir work on the non-metal research field in BiH brick production. It was searched a connection among the raw materials, quality of the product and energy consumption. The whole research work was planned to relize with data of the IGM factory, Visoko. The clay samples from clay-bad Golo Brdo, nearby Visoko, were tested how it could be possible to give a valuation of the raw materials quality for usage and find the connection between raw materials and final product. The optimization of the energy consumption into tunnel kiln was performed by mathematical model trough definitions of the optimal technological parameters. The mathematical model gives mathematical regularity for the temperature fields into the kiln and product. Balance equation of the input and output energy of the tunnel kiln makes possible to observe an influence of choosen parameters on the energy consumption. Checking of the mathematical model by measuring of the space distribution temperature into the kiln and product was performed in the tunnel kiln of IGM Visoko. The results of the model were confirmed, that is there is good agreement between needed heat treatment and heat treatment gained by measuring. This implys application of the model in the production practice. The results of the model should be input data for automatically managing of the brick production into the tunnel kilns.
