in just a few days american presidential elections will be held. and in my personal opinion the results will not be known until bush fixes them.
the guys at my uni are betting on results in americal election. i payed 10 euros on bush, expecting him to win. if he wins, which i think won't happen i would at least have little satisfaction in form of money i get. if kerry wins (and i hope he will, really) this would be my contribution to peace in the world.

here is my definiton of wahabism:
wahabis are islamic sect or movement originating in saudi arabia. it is official doctrine of royal family in saudi arabia. wahabis opose to traditional and institutional form of islam, the one which is compatible with people's mentality and modern environment, arguing this form of islam has been changed during the time. such people in their eyes represent something worse than the infidels, since their mulsim heritage can bring believers on wrong path. this means in it's basis the wahabism is totalitarian.
yet they claim to represent true traditional islam. in their opinion there is no such thing as nation, nationhood, tradition, even laws or science. everything has already been described in qur'an. muslims have the sharia law which can properly work only under ideal circumstances. in land of utopia. everything that eventually needs to be developed must be derived from qur'an. and the leading elite (ulemma) are those that poss ultimate knowledge.
having in mind that middle east is the region with one of the most inhumane wealth distribution, illiteracy rate, and authocratic regimes. the left idea never had the time to truly develop. yet it was from the begining misuded by the superpowers as a tool for gaining control of energy sources. every free thinking attempt was suppressed by the authoritarian regimes. and the only opposition to these came in revolutionary form of jihad.
what has bush to do with this. at first glance not much. he lives in the totaly different world (most of the voters don't know where iraq is). in the leading country in the world. this country (fortunately / unfortunately) has a constitution that doesn't allow him to do what he likes. but just like every ruler in the world he is keen to bypass it in order to gain or stay in power (think florida 2000). and his past as a borne again christian is not that harmless at all.
evangelists are cristian sect, that rougly corresponds to wahabism in islam. they accept laws constitutions and others just if they are in their opinion in compliance to god's word. they also posses ultimate knowledge and keys to heaven. just think about what bush said when he installed new federal judges (we need god fearing judges), or think about the secretary of justice (the anti abortionist and anti contraceptionist (does this word exist at all??)) and his past.
the third important factor is nationalism. the average nationalist voter doesn't look if he has a job or something to eat. that doesn't bother him, since he is convinced that neither president nor government has something to do with his well being. his well being comes from his nation and god alone. and if a president is a believer and god fearing, the better it is. he can pray and ask the lord to give his nation strength and well being (just what bush thought when he said that his personally advisor is jesus christ).
so we have the simmilar situation like in bosnia. kerry against the jesus. kerry i wish you luck. you have hard job to do.
o tome kako ase substancijalne i egzistencijalne stvari ne pisu cirilicom
pricu treba postaviti u vrijeme samrti real-socijalistickog sistema u jugoslaviji, u doba ante markovica i njegove liberalizacije jugoslovenskog trzista. ono sto citaocu dolazi kao asocijacija na to doba jeste budjenje duhova nacionalizma, nosenja kostiju davno umrlih careva i izvlacenja nacionalnih heroja iz memljivih podruma. smrad doticnih heroja i njihovog djela nam je obiljezio cijelu narednu deceniju. no ovo sto cete dalje procitati mozda i nema tolike veze sa onim sto dolazi koliko sa onim sto je vec bilo na izdisaju. real socijalizmom.
ali bolje opisimo to ovako: bilo je to doba pojave vhs sistema u radnickim stanovima, doba strajkova, smoga, doba inflacija, kredita, i pored svega nabrojanog dobrog zivota. recimo i to da su tada majkl dzekson i madona harali top listama, te da je holivud postao blizi nego ikada.
kako sam rodjen i isao u skolu u zenici u bosni u kojoj je valjalo pisati oba maternja pisma i cililcu i latinicu, vrlo brzo sam shvatio da je istocna varijanta maternjeg jezika (politicki ispravan naziv za srpski jezik je bio istocna varijanta (cega?) a za hrvatski zapadna varijanta), je komplikovana zahvaljujuci svom kitnjaskom pismu. u skoli su me ucili kako u tome i lezi njegova genijalnost, svaki glas napisan cirilicom ima samo jedan znak. to sto jedan znak ima mozda vise elemenata od dva tri znaka latinice, te onemogucava brzo pisanje, nije bilo bitno. cirilica je bila genijalna jer je bila domaci proizvod. nesvrstan. samoupravni. made in yugoslavia. nju nisu napravili kojekakvi strani okupatori, nego nas covek bre vuk karadjic.
napumpan tom propagandom mrzio sam i zapadnu varijantu, sa komplikovanim rijecima koje mi nikada nismo koristili. a sama i imena su im bila cudna i istorijska, barem po onome sto je pisalo u djecijem programu, urednici: juraj drk-hladny.
uciteljica nas je ucila da pored hidropotencijala rijeke gostovic, gdje se nalazi sour krivaja, nasa zenmlja ima jos potencijala. zbog toga svi samo gledaju da napadnu nasu zemlju. a nije ni cudo kada je okruzena brigama (prva slova rijeci: bugarska, rumunija, italija, grcka, austrija, madjarska, albanija). a zna se ko tu zemlju zeli napasti: stranci koji u prezimenima imaju y ili w. stoga nase spasenje je lezalo u vuku.
skolski sistem forsirao pisanje dva pisma, jedno jedne sedmice, drugo druge sedmice. a skolu se islo naizmjenicno, jedne sedmice ujutru, druge popodne. tako da je cirilica uvijek bila vezana za odvratna hladna jutra, mrak i zenicki smog. vjerovatno je to pocelo da izaziva mrznju u meni, kao nauceni refleks pavlovljevog psa.
par godina kasnije, u 5 razredu osnovne skole, moralo se zapisivati. to su bile stupidne teorije nastavnika da ucenici treba da vjezbaju ruku (ne ne to nema veze sa hands-on pristupom, naprotiv), umjesto da se koncentrisu na substancijalno. sjecam se kao sada da je to bila sedmica cirilice i da sam ja, neuspijevsi zapisati sve potrebno, jednostavno se prebacio i nastavio pisati latinicom. nastavnica je naravno to primjetila i opomenula me. kako nisam htio nastaviti pisati cirilicom (ovdje nema niceg nacionalnog, nego tvrdoglavog, pubertetskog), dobio sam neki ukor. a na to sam ja prilicno primitivno pljunuo sliku vuka karadjica. bice da me tim putem poveo moj pavlovljev refleks. uslijedili su razgovori kod razrednika, direktora, pedagoga, svi bolesno lose blefirajuci i cudeci se kako neko moze mrziti cirlicu. bilo je strasnih prijedloga od moga direktora, koji se toboz cudio kako neko moze mrziti cirilicu, kako me treba prijaviti u sup, izbaciti iz pionira (pioniri su kao mafija, odatle nikoga ne izbacuju, osim mozda sa zabetoniranim nogama), te kako mrzim sve narode i narodnosti ako ne pisem cirilicu. kako to nije urodilo plodom a i doba polugodista i zakljucivanja ocjena se blizilo, tako su mi se i nastavnici skinuli sa grbace. a ja sam od tada nastavio pisati samo latinicom.
od tada je cirilica postala moj neprijatelj.
citaoca sada postavljamo u 1992 godinu, nepunu godinu kasnije. pred ocima su mu sigurno tv slike. kako i ne bi bile, mi smo zapravo mtv generacija na jedan ozbiljniji i perverzniji nacin. slike logora, granata, izbjeglica, leseva. i kao lajtmotiv cirilica. cp6uja! pisalo je.
tada vec nije bilo sumnje, cirilica je postala neprijatelj svih nas.
nije vise bilo isprazne genijalnosti cirilicnog pisma. nikome nije naumpadalo to da jednim znakom moze zapisati jedan glas. za takvo sta nije ni bilo potrebe. nasa komunikacija je postala elementarnija bez nepotrebnih stilskih figura.
substancijalne i egzistencijalne stvari ne pisu se cirilicom.
da li bi se uputstva za rezervni alat i pribor jugoslovenske narodne armije mogla pisati bilo kojim drugim pismom osim cirilicom. da li bi marksisticki prirucnici za samoupravljaca mogli imati pravi sjaj da su bili pisani latinicom? da li bi bilo koji drugi primjerak jugoslovenske salabajzerske, jebivjetarske i lezihljebovicke literature koju svakako nikada niko nije ni procitao (citalac se upucuje da analizira prethodnih par rijeci, naime iracionalnost naseg jezika je u tome da pored gomilanja negacija recenica ne gubi negativan smisao) bio autentican da je bio odstampan u bilo kojem drugom pismu?
german social reforms and personal five-year plans
after few days of laying in the bed, watching tv, drinking tea and medicines, i must admit that i am worse off than i have been days before. not that drugs didn't work. it is that i feel i was brainwashed.
reforms in germany are big thing. no one wants them, and mentality is i want reforms, but please don't start with me, rather with that neighbour of mine. egoism is a big thing here.
however, people have heard that it is fun to demonstrate against something, so they did. first it started as huge gathering. but as the weather got worse so did demonstrations become unimportant. now anti reformers have started with tv shows.
so i wathced one, kinda real life big brother tv show about a blonde that is colege grad, and unemployed in search for job. te show was so pathetic that it was barely watchable. girl is living off of the social security, and besides the fact that she has her appartment payed by the social security she is stil unsatisfied. she has enought to live on, but she has no money to go on vacation. how can a society be fair when one can not afford to go to vacation, while others can.
no one mentioned foreigners in this country. the hated group of the society, that allegedly took jobs that germans would otherwise have. no one ever mentioned what these people are doing to earn the amount of money that germans are protesting against.
so we come to talk about important moment in life of every german, and that is a five-year plan. germans are perfect communists. i am not talking about the east germany nor anything like that. i am talking about the simple fact that everyone in germany has plan what to do in next five years.
where to find job, which exams to pass, where and when to go on holidays, when to marry, and which sport to do. german plans are comprehensive. during the 1930es and 40es they had to give up their personal plans in order to fulfill those of their leader, but those are grey days of german nation, so they dont like to be reminded.
personal plan is everything, there are people who are able to do just about everything to fulfill their plans. once this plan is not fullfiled germans are faced with great problem. what to do now?
this is the reason why they are demonstrating. at the end of the day they won't be hungry when they loose their job, nor they will be unable to visit the doctor. but they won't be able to do things they planed. to go to holiday when and where they like (holiday is something important in germany, since every sort of national ideology is changed by have fun ideology) and that is the problem.
there are at least two ways how to trick the law, regarding the headscarf issue.
since it is officialy fobiden in some countries to wear muslim headscarf here are two ways how to stay true to religion, yet to stay within laws.
turkish way: in turkey access to public office, universities and simmilar places is forbiden for women wearing a headscarf. to get around theese obstacles turkish women have come up with the idea to put a wig on top of the headscarf. i have seen this on tv, they have even workshops that produce such things. and it looks pretty ridiculous, as the rest of this story and the arguments of both sides in this debate.
so the headscarf has to be realy thin, and must not contain the usual ingidients that normal islamic headscarves seem to include (i admit i am not an expert on these thinks, this is based on my observation). this ingerdients make head look big. so on top of that, a wig made of an artificial hairs is attached (natural hair is sin). since islam orders that hair, ears and neck ought to be covered, these girls probably wear turtlenecks, and sm hairstile.
a possible dialog in turkey might look like this:
a: you see that girl with big hair and sm hairstile over there?
b: yes, but she is not fuck-happy. she is actually very religious.
french way: a french schoolgirl who was denied access to scool because of a headscarf had shaven off her hair. she claims that it is a sin for a muslim girl to show her hair in public. since the law applies only on headscarf, she would be permitted to wear the rest of the dress.
based on this premises i can derive the following conclusion. whoever made this decision seems to be hair fetishist.
but wearing a headscarf might not be that bad thing after all. if you have a long haired girlfriend, you will notice her hairs all over your home. something that would not happen, had she worn the headscarf.
gledam rezultate izbora u bosni, pa se cudim: nacelnik opstine mostar/srpski mostar dobio je ukupno 24, odnosno 100% glasova na izborima. u albaniji nekada bijase da enver hodza dobije po 106%. valjda se neko zavrati pa glasa dva tri puta. ipak republika srpska je mnogo demokratskija.
a nisam ni znao kakvih sve opsitna ima u bosni. izgleda da se geografija dobro izmijenila. tendencija je da opstine nose naziv tipa sanski most / srpski sanski most - prijebici donji. prvi dio imena sluzi da citaoca (nazovimo ga humbolt, po slavnom geografu i istrazivacu) uputi u siri geografski region gdje bi se mogla nalaziti opstina, a drugi da humbolta upozori na to da doticno mjesto nece naci na obicnoj karti, odnosno da ce morati koristiti topografsku. odnosno prvi dio sluzi da da takvoj vukojebini osjecaj ozbiljnosti i urbanosti.
recimo i to da u bosni postoje 4 izborna sistema, preferencijalni u federaciji, baziran na apsolutnom broju glasova u republici srpskoj, te posebni u mostaru i brckom. u kini je jedna zemlja i dva sistema, a kod nas 4.
a kako li je tek bilo glasacima u bosni, koji su napravili toliko nevazecih listova. a nije da nije postojala ozbiljna pametoispiracka propaganda kako glasati na izborima. pomalo debilna vjerovatno sa onim listama na kojim se nalazi mik dzeger (cirilicom) i bono vox (latinicom), ali dovoljna da covjeka nbauci. ali dzaba je sve to kada je bosancu slovo strasno teska stvar, od slova se oci trose, a upitani ce uvijek hitar odgovor dati da je on najveci vasionski strucnjak za glasanje.
osim toga i odziv je bio mali, tek 45% registrovanih biraca je glasalo. a uzme li se u obzir da se dobar dio nije registrovao dodje se do zakljucka da se prema mojoj procjeni oko 25% ljudi odlucilo sudbinu vecine. ali demokratija je shodno iskustvu drzavno uredjenje gdje manjina odlucuje o vecini, kao sto je to u ekstrmnom slucaju bilo 2000 u americi. ali ostavimo to na stranu, jer amerika ako cemo cjepidlaciti i nije demokratija nego republika (predsjednik se ne bira direktno).
rezultati izbora pokazuju da je moglo biti i gore. osim zenicko dobojskog kantona koji je poznat i kao dzamahirija, sdp nije mnogo izgubio. a dobio je u bihacu, sto predstavlja veliko cudo. nazi stranke (sda, hdz, sds) su uspjele zabetoniorati pozicije, svako u svom dijelu, mada je sds infinitezimalno malo poljuljan u republici srpskoj, barem u gradskim sredinama.
nakon ovih izbora neke stvari su postale jasnije. to da su klerofasisticke stranke spremne na sve da sacuvaju vlast, da stranka za bih nije nikakva partija isto kao sto ni haris nije nikakav politicar. niti stranka za bih ima neku ideologiju (formalno kazu da se zalazu za bih, a to rade svi inace se ne bi mogli kandidovati na izbore), niti program osim da budu na vlasti. a za to bi koalirali sa adolfom hitlerom, mao ce tungom ili bilo kime. samo da budu na vlasti, jer to je i jedina ideologija ove stranke. male stranke previse male i temelje se na licnostima i narcisoidnostima svojih vodja.
i to da je najgore iza sdpa, te da se sdp mora mijenjati. ukoliko zeli da dobije na slijedecim izborima, treba da postavi sebi jedan i jedini cilj. to da smisao partije i njene politike treba da bude bitka za slijedece izbore. svaki dan, svaka sjednica partije treba da ima tacku dnevnog reda slijedeci izbori. sdp treba od slijedeceg kongresa da pocne predizbornu kampanju. za dvije godine se cuda mogu napraviti.
sdp treba:
1. napraviti dugorocan plan, sta ce biti sa partijom u narednih 20 godina. ne cekati da se planovi naprave, da se dodje na vlast pa da se vidi sta bi se sa tom vlascu, nego znati sve prije nego se dodje na vlast. sta ce biti kada se dobiju izbori i pocne vladati. kako ce to uticati na partiju? da li ce partija opet puci po nekim savovima? po kojim savovima? zbog cega?
vecina glasaca u americi misli da keri nema plan za irak. tako i vecina glasaca misli o sdpu. da sdp nema neki plan za bosnu i da nije nista bolji u odnosu na nazi partije. pitanje je kako uticati na svijest bosanca, kojemu je slovo mrska stvar da sazna o sdpu. bice tesko ali ne i nemoguce. keyword je aktivizam. mozda ne bi bilo lose napraviti i vladu u sjeni.
2. partija ideoloski ojaca. sdp je lijeva partija koja i nema lijeve ideologije. sdp ima dosta politicke energije, jak kadar ali ne i ideolosku matricu koja bi to povezala. sdp nema mnogo veze sa sindikatima. ne postoji ideolosko glasilo partije, ne postoje intelektualci ideolozi. vecina ljudi u stranci nema pojma sta je socijaldemokratija svedskog tipa. ne zna sta je aktivizam, ne zna se kako bi savremena lokalna vlast trebala da izgleda. sta znaci biti gradjanin.
sdp nije nikada pravio workshopove o socijal demokratiji. sdp nije narodu ispirao pamet o svojim uspjesima. sta je sa populizmom koji itekako pali u bosni? da li je glasac sdpa vjeran sdpu ili je swing voter?
3. kada je ideologija vodilja partije, vodece licnosti dolaze u drugi plan. a vodeca licnost cesto zna biti i nepopularna.
4. formirati vjerske grupacije u okviru sdpa. ako svedski socijaldemokrati imaju krscansku uniju sksf/broderskapsr�relsen u okviru sap-a i ako postoji ilrs (international league of religious socialists), zasto to ne postoji u sdpu. kako sdp vidi sansu da pridobije religioznu desnicu u bosni?
ukoliko sve to ne upali, onda treba raspustiti sdp, povuci se u ilegalu, formirati revolucionarne celije i krenuti u bitku protiv klasnog poretka.

first had i not known that such thing is about to happen i could have easily mistaken it for an occupation or cuoup d etat. what else can you think of when you wake up and see police with bullet proof westes everywhere, helicopters in the air, and baricades on the street. you think about your passport that you left home, and how to prospone that coffe and croissants you are going to have. and than you realize that you will be an eye witness of such a german event, the march of neo nazis.
it makes you think what the fuck are they going to do with such a force. is it that thousands of nazis are comming? or is it just a taxpayers money burnout. once the ceremony starts and you see that it is pathetic that 30 or so hairless democrats (the government failed to outlaw npd, since they were unable to prove that they have anti constitutional activities) with boots make so many policemen and women bussy. including few ladies and few seniors fromn the second world war.
it will remain unknown why these gentlemen have right on police protection which is better than those of the german chancelor. if they are democratic party as they claim to be, then they have nothing to be affraid of. no one needs police escort for the greens or spd party rally.
anyway there were enough turks in the counter demonstrations who were able to sort things out alone. i am thinking about solving nazi problem through the same democratic manner the nazis claim to represent. if you don't know what i am talking about google the internet and search for sturmabteilung (sa).

so with the words: achtung achtung, hier spricht die npd, die nationalen (attention, npd speaks. the nationals), the demonstrations got underway, with police standing between the protestors. nazis on the one side, and mainly teenagers, foreigners, students, jews, communists, socialists, trade unions, women gropus, and such.. notably mainstream of the erlangen's society was absent. it was impossible to find someone who belongs to upper middle class, or was traditionally cristian conservative voter. there were no senior citizens, neither were there doctors, engineers or such. there were only people who's job is somehow to be there. why on earth would someone go protesting, when it makes more fun (viel spa�) to go shopping.
to me it seems that germans have nothing against theese hairless democrates. they are just bad kids, germans think. just as every father is proud of his kid, even if it is ill-bread or loud. he forgives him everything, knowing it is his kid and his pride. such is the german attitude towards neo nazis.
at the end even if nazis climb to power, so the germans think, germans are not the ones that will draw a thick end. it might change their personal 5 year plan, but it will certainly not be a bad thing. they will first expell foreigners, and start building arms. lots of arms. and to germans that means jobs jobs and national pride. just the things they need.

the princess and the warrior
after the boring summer brake, we have many good reasons to go back to cinemas. among others the downfall, story about the last 12 days of hitler's reich, la mala education, the latest almodovar's movie about catholic church, and the girl with a pearl earring to name a few.
but let's start with the older german release: the princess and the warrior (der krieger un die kaiserin) from tom tykwer. best known for his run lola run debut, folowed by heaven (with blanchet), this is one of his less known movies. although 4 years old it is still fresh and tempting. but beware, with the most of action located in psychiatric ward, this is not for the faint-herated. you have to have thick nerves if you want to see this to the end. it is the definition of serendipity as much as spirituality. everything is moved by itself, yet nothing is chaotic.
as much as the lost in translation was a cold movie, with attracting coldnes, so was the mullen's magdalene sisters repellingly cold. this movie is between the two, but more inclined to this mullens cold coldnes. this movie is perfectly german, sharp and precise. and afterwards, you will need tranquilizers to get asleep. it gives you very little, and it asks you for so much.
as opposed to it is a perfect date movie: girl with a pearl earring. it tells story about the famous painter johannes vermeer in the 17 century netherlands. and his, probbably the best known painting. it is nice love story, and powerful acting of scarlet johansson, which made seeworthy film out of a boring topic.
